“Lost Soul” is Accurate and Sweet
As someone who see’s music more of a basic necessity of life, (like food, water, shelter, etc) I’ve traveled a pretty big gamut of musical genres in my umm-years. If you truly love music, with age, you find out there are no “bad” genres of music. You start to realize, there’s just good and not-so-good in all. I’ve done my share of phases…Heavy Metal, Punk, New Wave, Electronic, Old Country (thank you Johnny Cash), ‘Alternative’ (In all its manifestation), and so on and so on. But ever since my Dad played me a Temptations Record at the ripe ol’ age of 6, Soul Music has always been my comfort food. It’s that place that I can always come back to in times of need. For a white kid brought up in the Suburbs of Houston, Tx, there is deep rooted connection of dirty Rhythm and Blues flowing through these Irish/German/English veins of mine somehow.
